Dear colleague,

You are receiving this email as a contact for one of the data sets 
currently published through the GBIF network.  We thank you for 
supporting global biodiversity informatics in this way and would like 
your input as we make some key decisions for the future.

We are seeking to improve consistency in publishing and use of GBIF data 
and to ensure that we provide the best possible support both to 
publishers and users.

To achieve this, we need to address some major issues around the 
licensing of data published through the GBIF network.  The attached 
document explains the options and seeks your input to help us identify 
an appropriate approach to licences, and particularly to handling usage 
in not-for-profit and commercial contexts.

We are looking for responses to this consultation document *by email to 
licensing at gbif.org <mailto:licensing at gbif.org> by 5 September 2013*.  
Please share this message with any who may wish to provide input.
