Dear GBIF friends,

On behalf of the Nodes Steering Group, the GBIF Secretariat is pleased
to *invite
nominations for a newly formed Documentation Editorial Panel* as part of
the 2019 Work Programme item 1.b.4: Establish system for reviewing,
prioritizing, updating and creating new documentation to support GBIF data
publishers and users.

The Documentation Editorial Panel (EP) is a volunteer group of experts,
coordinated by the GBIF Secretariat, that manages the GBIF documentation
system through a peer review process. Additionally, the EP will provide
recommendations to the GBIF Secretariat on commissioning high-priority
guidance from subject-matter experts.

The EP will be comprised of one member from each region within the GBIF
Network, along with three members of the GBIF Secretariat.

   - EP members should have experience both in writing and reviewing
technical documentation for the biodiversity informatics community.
   - EP members are encouraged to commit to a two-year term, but can serve
   longer.
   - EP members will be recognized as a part of the GBIFS volunteer
community alongside mentors, open data ambassadors and translators.

Please review the Terms of Reference <http://links.gbif.org/ep_tor> for
further details about the panel.

Nominations should include the individuals name, role, institution, email
and motivation for joining the panel. And should be submitted *to
Anne-Sophie Archambeau <anne-sophie.archambeau at mnhn.fr> or Liam Lysaght
<llysaght at biodiversityireland.ie> by 1 Feb 2019*.

On behalf of your Regional Representatives, I encourage you to spread the
invitation to whoever might be concerned,
--
