Introduction to next BiodivERsA call on Biodiversity & Health at the NEOH Final Conference

The BiodivERsA network will be attending the Final Action Conference organized by the Network for Evaluation of One Health (NEOH), at Bologna, Italy. This event will be held on the 10th and 11th of September 2018 and is aiming at exploring how EcoHealth and One Health approaches are being evaluated and implemented in practice. Please find the full provisional programme here<http://neoh.onehealthglobal.net/wp-content/uploads/sites/2/2017/12/NEOH-conference-Bologna_provisional-programme-2018-07-03.pdf>.

During this conference, we will present our next call on Biodiversity & Health and organize a Networking event, on the afternoon of the 10thof September. It will be a great opportunity for researchers from both biodiversity/ecology and health communities to exchange on possible projects and consortiums.

If you are interested in attending this conference and our networking event, we would be grateful if you take 5 minutes to fill this form<https://docs.google.com/forms/d/e/1FAIpQLSepxy62ppPiOo2g_q23SBCOWOFtQMBFKsf2VrpM0ag_XlUzKw/viewform?usp=pp_url>. You can register to the NEOH Final Conference here<https://eventi.unibo.it/neohfinalconferenceandworkshop-distal-bologna-2018/registration> (registration closes on 12th of August).

We hope to meet you there!

Reminder: pre-announcement of the BiodivERsA Call on Biodiversity & Health

BiodivERsA is pleased to announce the launch of its next call on the theme “Biodiversity and its influence on animal, human and plant health”.

This call will include two actions, supporting two different types of research projects:

  *   Action A will support collaborative research projects (1), gathering different research teams and generating new primary data;
  * Action B will support research synthesis projects (2), gathering individuals forming a working group who perform research and answer research questions using existing data sets. These research projects won’t collect or produce new primary data, the core activity of these projects being synthesizing and/or analyzing existing data (synthesizing concepts and ideas is also eligible). Note that these projects differ from systematic reviews or knowledge synthesis which are based on a synthesis of publications and reports.

We invite you to consult the 2018 Joint Call<http://www.biodiversa.org/1481> page to check the list of participating countries and the criteria of the call, and on which information on the call will be regularly updated.

(1) that is the classical format of research projects funded by BiodivERsA so far
(2) this corresponds to the format of projects classically supported by biodiversity/ecology centres like NCEAS<https://www.nceas.ucsb.edu/>, sDiv<https://www.idiv.de/sdiv.html> or CESAB<http://www.cesab.org/index.php/fr/> for instance
