[Gbif-europe] possible framework for describing status / progress

Dear all,

I think Steve has done a great job with this framework and the rest of us
should also put some effort to it! There is not that much time before summer
vacations and GB21!

I had a quick read and the first thing that comes to my mind is, that I have
no idea if the status or "tasks" of the HoD:s have been defined anywhere?

At least my HoD does not represent any funding agency (the membership is
paid by the ministry of education and science, but HoD is the Director of
the Museum), and hence I have difficulties defining how much we have
affiliation with different ministries. and in Finland there is separate
ministries for "Education and Science", "Forestry and agriculture" and
"Environment".

It might help to identify criteria for affiliation and give some examples.
It might also be fruitful to have this conversation with HoDs about the role
of Node Managers and HoDs in different countries.

Cheers,

Hanna

Subject: [Gbif-europe] possible framework for describing status / progress

All,

Thanks again for a great meeting - we did make a lot of progress. I felt at
the end that we hadn't quite closed the gaps though. We had some themes of
work we had worked on and were looking at next and a general view that we
needed engagement with the HoD and that funding would help. We also had
Paco's "spider graph" and I have spent a bit of time on the way home
creating a suggestion for what this might look like (attached).

I am not precious about this (and you will see it is very rough) but I think
if we could create something it would be fairly powerful and unless someone
starts to put ideas down we wont make progress. So I would welcome any ideas
on the attached even just whether you think it would be feasible to complete
to completely alternative ideas on what you think the axes ought to be.

Best wishes

Steve
