 [To: Belgian IPBES Stakeholder mailinglist]

Dear Colleagues

Herewith, I would like to inform you on two new Calls from the IPBES
Secretariat

1/ Call for comments on the Scoping document for the Global assessment on
biodiversity and ecosystem services - Deadline 3 November 2015

2/ 2nd open Stakeholder and Government review for revised scoping report
for a methodological assessment on the diverse conceptualization of values
- Deadline 31 October 2015

More information on both calls is provided below.

As you will notice - these are "open" consultation processes; hence,
experts and other stakeholders can send their comments directly to IPBES.
However, in order to have a clear idea of who in the Belgian community is
interested in this work, and to help us find experts in the future - we
kindly ask all Belgian contributors to inform us on their contribution by
emailing to h.eggermont at biodiversity.be

I remain available would you need further information.

Best wishes,
Hilde Eggermont

services, based on the approach proposed in document IPBES/3/9
<http://ipbes.net/images/documents/plenary/third/working/3_9/IPBES_3_9_EN.pdf>,
a group of experts met in Bonn on 5-7 October 2015. This group produced a

*2/ 2nd open Stakeholder and Government review for revised scoping report
for a methodological assessment on the diverse conceptualization of values*

IPBES-3 requested (IPBES-3/1, section V, para 3) to revise the report on
scoping for the methodological assessment regarding diverse
conceptualization of multiple values of nature and its benefits, including
biodiversity and ecosystem functions and services (IPBES/3/8), based on the
comments following an open Government and Stakeholder review and comments
received during IPBES-3 for the consideration by the Plenary at its fourth
session. The scoping report for the methodological assessment was
previously submitted for review by governments and stakeholders from 26
February - 31 March 2015.

The comments from the open review were further discussed in the IPBES 3(d)
Expert Group meeting in Budapest, Hungary, June 8-12, and the scoping
document was revised based on these comments as well the comments made by
the member states during the IPBES-3.

The second round of open Government and Stakeholder review is now
running until 30th of October.Comments should be provided to
secretariat at ipbes.net on the separate template, which can be downloaded
from here
