Dear IPBES Stakeholders,

Dear Colleagues,


IPBES is currently seeking expert reviewers for the external *First Order
Draft review of the IPBES thematic assessment on land degradation and
restoration and the four regional assessments on biodiversity and ecosystem
services*. Registration will be available *on 30 May* and the review will
run for six weeks to *11 July*. Please find the details in the message
below.


Please note that the *Call for nomination of experts for the "Global
Assessment on Biodiversity and Ecosystem Services"* and for the re-scoping
of the *"Thematic assessment on the Sustainable Use of Biodiversity"* is
still open. In addition, the call invites *nomination of fellows* (early
career experts who wish to gain experience by participating in the work of
IPBES) to the IPBES Fellowship Pilot Programme, to participate in the
Global Assessment on Biodiversity and Ecosystem Services. Detailed
information on the application process can be found in the attached
document; please also consult the Belgian guidelines here
<http://www.biodiversity.be/ipbes>. Applicants seeking Belgian government
endorsement are required to submit their forms to the IPBES Secretariat *by
28 April 2016*.

Dear IPBES National Focal Points,

As part of the open, transparent and collaborative process in the
development of IPBES assessment reports, we would like to inform you that
the external *First Order Draft review by experts* of the IPBES thematic
assessment on land degradation and restoration (Deliverable 3bi) and of the
four regional assessments (Africa, Asia Pacific, Americas, Europe and
Central Asia) on biodiversity and ecosystem services (Deliverable 2b) will
run for 6 weeks *(30 May*-*11 July 2016)*.

The secretariat invites all prospective expert reviewers with relevant
knowledge and/or experience to fill the registration form that will be made
available on 30 May. More information on the registration process will be
circulated by email and posted on the website (www.ipbes.net) 30 May 2016.

All names of expert reviewers who provide comments will be published on the
IPBES website and acknowledged in the Annex of the respective report.

regarding the ongoing nomination process for experts for the Global
Assessment on Biodiversity and Ecosystem Services (Deliverable 2c), scoping
experts for the thematic assessment of the Sustainable Use of Biodiversity
(Deliverable 3biii) and fellows to participate in the IPBES Fellowship
Pilot Programme of Deliverable 2c. Interested experts (nominees) are
requested to fill out their application form no later than *05 May 2016*.
Nominators (governments or organisations) should submit approved
applications by *15 May 2016* at the latest.
