This undertaking aligns directly with the work of IPBES on biodiversity and ecosystem services ? but also goes much wider, which is why the Member States mandated the regular publication of a Global Sustainable Development Report (GSDR). Following the adoption of the SDGs in September 2015, the GSDR has become a quadrennial publication ? the next edition of which is due for release in 2019 to also inform the High Level Political Forum for Sustainable Development (HLPF). For the first time, the report is being drafted by an independent group of scientists, supported by a task team of six UN-system agencies. As part of its outreach, the independent group of scientists is calling for inputs to the GSDR from the widest-possible group of scientific and non-scientific communities ? another powerful echo of the IPBES conceptual framework and approach. With this in mind, I would like please to share with you the call for inputs to the 2019 GSDR ? and urge that all of the members of our IPBES community give very serious consideration to participating. To access the call please go to: https://goo.gl/BHdL3b Please also feel free to share this message with your colleagues, networks and contacts.
