Dear Ir. Heughebaert,

Thank you very much for sending me this comprehensive and ambitious work
programme of GBIF concerning priorities and future activities. I look
forward very much that it is accepted during the 25th Governing Board
meeting. I am very pleased to learn that the items are included which
probably can be more emphasized during the meeting:
1) the involvement of Colombia into GBIF activities (this country holds 10%
of world biodiversity);
2) the release of non-European biodiversity data locked in the European
museums/depositories.

Our Belgian and other European repositories are very rich with historic
data from Africa and if we combine these historic data with newly obtained
information from Colombian and Chili nodes we will be on the right track to
conserve the biggest forests on the planet.

I am very honoured to be part of this very positive development for all
biodiversity researchers and supporters.

Kind regards,
Jurate
