[Belgianbif] New GBIF call for nominations

Dear all

For the reasons explained here below, 4 positions were not filled in the last elections. The whole process has to start up new.

If you are interested in one of the positions, please send us the following documents as soon as possible , no later than 1st December. In case of more than one candidate for a same position, the Belgian Platform will do an internal selection as we cannot send more than one nominee per position.

 • a statement from the candidate – up to one page,
• a letter of willingness to serve from the candidate,
• a CV.

Dear GBIF Head of Delegation,



As we did not manage to get enough votes for candidates for a number of the GBIF committee positions in the elections prior to GB32, we are issuing a new call for nominations for the following positions:



  *   Nodes Committee Chair
  *   Nodes Committee 1st Vice-chair
  *   Nodes Committee 2nd Vice-chair
  *   Science Committee 2nd Vice-chair



We invite all Heads of Delegation to nominate candidates for the above committee representation.



The closing date for nominations is 6 December 2025.



An overview of the open positions can be found in the attached document ‘Call for nominations for elections of GBIF officials – intersessional 2025’, together with additional information about the submission of the nominations and requirements for nominees.



Please note that Voting Participants in good financial standing may submit nominations for any of the four positions. Associate Participants and Voting Participants not in good financial standing may submit nominations for a number of committee positions, as described the attached Call for nominations document.



As GBIF is a global network, we encourage nominations from all regions and hope to have a regional and gender balanced representation in the GBIF committees.
