Benefits and Challenges Workshop

Dear Kyle,

Hope you are doing great! Today I am writing for another good occasion
to meet and continue some joint work ;-)

Given your dedicated experience in the field, we would like to invite
you to a workshop on the *benefits and challenges of Citizen Science for
Environmental Monitoring*. The event will be organised as part of
the*COST Action 15212* "Citizen Science to promote creativity,
scientific literacy, and innovation throughout Europe" and take place in
the *afternoon of 21 November 2018 and on 22 November 2018 (full day)*
at the premises of the European Commission's Joint Research Centre (JRC)
in*Ispra, Italy*.

This workshop is a unique opportunity to connect major stakeholders in
this area, with the view to*explore **how Citizen Science could be
better promoted to complement environmental reporting across EU
countries**. *The discussions will also feed into the***guidelines about
the relationship between Citizen Science and environmental reporting*,
which are currently under preparation by the European Commission. More
details are available from the COST Action's pages:
https://www.cs-eu.net/events/internal/wg-3-workshop-citizen-science-and-environmental-monitoring-benefits-and-challenges

In your case, the JRC would like to directly support your travel. In
order to prepare the required procedure and _before taking any travel
arrangements_, *please let us know if you are interested and available
to attend*.

Kind regards,

Sven Schade(on behalf of the entire Organising Committee)
